Obituary for Warren Earl Hoke

Warren Earl Hoke Jr., age 71, died at his home on July 24, 2020. Earl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Potter Hoke; two daughters, Lori Hoke Verhage (Craig) of Cleveland and Robin Hoke Toler of Inverness; three grandchildren, Anna Street Toler, Woods Toler, and Warren Toler, all of Inverness; a brother, Jack Hoke (Roxie) of Belzoni.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Earl Hoke Sr. and Mildred Luster Hoke; and brothers, Jerry Hoke and Mike Hoke.
Earl served in the U.S. Army, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the 1st Air Calvary Division and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Marksman (Rifle) Medal.
Earl was a catfish farmer until his retirement due to health reasons. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments. He will be deeply missed by his family and those fortunate enough to know him.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, a private graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 11:00 am. Mortimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
