Obituary for Terry Wayne Crawford

Terry Wayne Crawford, age 58, of Cotton Plant, Arkansas passed away on May 12th, 2020 at White County Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born on November 9th, 1961 at Mercy Hospital in Brinkley, Arkansas to his mother Willie Maxine Eary Crawford. Terry grew up in Cotton Plant with his mom, one brother and two sisters, more commonly called his “sissy”. He attended the Learning Tree for many years, which was the Human Development Center years ago. There he learned to count his money, write his name, birth date, and other developmental skills. He became a great saver of his money, could tell you his birth date, and signed all his papers despite his mental disabilities. He also was involved in the special Olympics through his school and received several medals during his young years. Cotton Plant High school allowed him to walk during graduation the year of 1980, a year before his younger sister which was a proud accomplishment. He then continued to work through the Learning tree in their Adult program. After time, he left the school but continued to volunteer for jobs for Construction projects around his home town. He was not a stranger to anyone and loved getting to watch or help these workers doing their projects. Often, they would allow him to join in the crew, give him a hat and take him to lunch. This was one of the highlights of his life. From a young age, he had a talent for drawing, he spent much of his time drawing stick figure drawings but with such detail. Terry liked poster boards but preferred to draw on cardboard boxes. Terry enjoyed collecting tractors, implements, and most anything to do with a farm or construction. He also had a love for dinosaurs and constructing Lego sets. Terry was a sweet, loving, thoughtful young man that would do anything to be helpful. He loved everyone and was known well in his hometown. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews and a love for animals, too. He spent most of his time, taking walks, enjoying his toy implements, drawing and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his deep love for others and his softly spoken, sweet voice that would be followed by his gigantic grin or larger than life laugh. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Crawford and his brother Danny Crawford of Cotton Plant, Arkansas. Survivors include his two sisters, Daisy Merideth (Dale) of Cotton Plant, Arkanas and Tammy Terhune (Mike) of Brinkley, Arkansas; along with many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
