A celebration of life service will be held for Maxine Marshall Harris, 86, on December 1, at Covenant Presbyterian Church,1865 S. Main St., Greenville, MS. Ms. Harris went to Heaven on Nov. 26, at her home in Greenville, following a lengthy illness. Maxine was born in Isola, MS on June 20,1932, to Admal and Jessie Marshall. She moved to Greenville where she met the love of her life, James Lamar Harris. Together they raised a family, served as scout leaders and on various community projects. For years, they were both very involved in their church, Calvary Baptist.
Maxine’s life was a true example of God’s call to love others. She was always thinking of others and extending kindness to everyone, even strangers. She also worked as a Tupperware manager for years, which expanded her opportunity to meet others.
Maxine loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a friend to all, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a true angel on earth. We love her and will miss her ray of sunshine.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents Admal and Jessie Marshall and her husband, James L. Harris. She is survived by her brother Admal Marshall, Jr., (Peggy), Frisco, TX; stepson, Jimmy Harris (Lauri), Valles Mines, MO; sons Randy Harris (Patsy) and Noel Harris (Leigh), of Greenville and daughter Wanda Borganelli ( Mark), Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Ashton and Emily from Grace Hospice and our special caregivers Deborah and Sue, along with several wonderful people involved in her care. Thank you.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s International, Samaritan’s Purse or charity of your choice.
