Obituary for Lillie Ann Horton Monk

Lillie Ann Horton Monk, 76, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Lillie was born on June 7, 1944 in Sunflower, Mississippi, to Johnny Horton Sr, and Margaret Caldwell Horton. She spent the majority of her life in Humphreys County. During her working career, she was employed at Confish. She worked hard to help support her family so that their life would be better. She was a quite lady with a special smile. Lillie had a special love for butterflies, which she collected. She loved spending time her family and grands.

She preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Margaret Horton, her husband, Billy Ray Monk, sons, Dently Mitchell Jr and Billy Joe Mitchell, sisters, Johnnie Mae Whittaker, Ruby Lee Brown, and Christine Polk, and her brother, Johnny Lee Horton Jr.

Lillie Ann leaves behind her daughters, Lisa Bell (David) of Louise and Tabitha Kisner of Missouri, sisters, Annie Bell Criddle of Sunflower and Betty Joe Tullos of Michigan, her greatest love were her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grands. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Family services will be held at a later. Mortimer Funeral Home have been entrusted with the services.
