Obituary for Danny Joe Bufkin

Danny Joe Bufkin passed away suddenly on December 1st, 2018 in Yazoo City with his family close by.

He was born in Belzoni to R.C. and Quida Mae Brower Bufkin, Jr. on June 13th, 1951. He graduated from Belzoni High School and Mississippi Delta Community College. Danny Joe was currently employed with Helena Chemical company in Belzoni. He had previous farmed and worked in the catfish industry. He also spent 6 years serving in the Mississippi National Guard. He was a lifelong resident of Humphreys County.

As reported by his former bus driver, "Danny Joe, got on the bus in the morning laughing and when he got off in the afternoon he was still laughing." This was how most people will remember him, always with a smile and laughing. He made friends with everyone. A kind and caring person.

Danny Joe Bufkin was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Quida Bufkin and a brother, Terry Bufkin. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Duke Bufkin, sons, Bryan (Jeri Lynn) Bufkin of Belzoni and Jeffery (Sara) Bufkin of Cleveland, Mississippi, brother, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Bufkin, Cleveland, Mississippi, a brother, Roscoe (Sara), Olive Brandh, Mississippi, sisters, Connie (Jimmy) Morton, Hohenwald, Tennessee, and Amanda (John) Bran, Collierville, Tennessee. His greatest joys, grandchildren Cruise, Taylor, and Favi Ann. Several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends who will miss him.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Belzoni, with visitation at 10 AM followed by services at 11 AM. Burial to follow at the Caile Cemetery.. Reverend George Johnson will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Kevin Franklin, Roscoe Bufkin, Ben Bufkin, Ricky Yarabourgh, Jim Duke, and Mike Domino.

Mortimer Funeral Home Belzoni, is in charge of the services.
