Glen Allan, Mississippi

Roger Daniel McCraw, 74, of Glen Allan, died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at University Medical Center in Jackson with his family by his side.

He was born October 31st, 1942 in Hillsboro, Mississippi; the son of John Wesley McCraw and Essie Robinson McCraw. He made his home here in the Delta in 1987.

Dan worked in the grocery business meat department for 55 years. He began his career with Lewis Grocery and later he spent 25 years working for SuperValue. He worked for Tam-An and with Potter & Sims Foods for 30 years before his retirement on a few weeks ago in March 2017. He had a job and a boss that he dearly loved. Even though he retired only a few weeks ago, he was still looking for excuses daily to go check on store #9046 (Belzoni SuperValue). Barbara teased him that only wanted to drop by and see if anybody missed him. He former co-workers did miss him and they will continue to miss him in the days to come. He was an avid fisherman and loved wood working. He was a member of Glen Allan Methodist Church.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Wiley McCraw; and his sister, Marvis Ann Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara B. McCraw; daughter, Cathy McCraw Finch (Mike) of Flowood; brother, Wilson McCraw of Walnut Grove; sister, Janice Kyzer of Pearl; he is known as "Pop" to Kaylee Beck and McKinley and Brandon Blagg; and known as "Uncle Dan" to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at Glen Allan Methodist Church.

Funeral services will begin 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at

Glen Allan Methodist Church, Glen Allan, Mississippi; under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home.
