Hattie P. Savell passed away peacefully at her home in Ridgeland, MS. She was born June 20th, 1933 in the Spring Creek community in Neshoba County, the daughter of Joseph C. "Jake" Parker and Chloe D. Parker. After her marriage in 1952, she relocated to the Mississippi Delta, where she lived and worked in Humphreys County, until she moved to Ridgeland in 1998. During her years in Silver City and Belzoni, she worked at Jockey International, Sears and Roebuck, and Bank Plus. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belzoni, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Choir. She was a member of the Circle of Love Sunday School Class at Trace Ridge Baptist Church .In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Opal and an infant brother. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gary R. Savell and daughter Pam Savell; a sister, Juanita P. Fulton of Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
Visiting hours will be 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at Mortimer Funeral Home, Belzoni.
Funeral services will be at Trace Ridge Baptist Church in Ridgeland, with visitation at 10 am funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 12th, 2017.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 Thursday, October 12th, 2017 at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, near Philadelphia, Mississippi under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home.
