Dorothy was born in Wewahitchka, Florida, on September 15th, 1924, the daughter of the late John M. and Lonnie Godwin. She grew up in Caryville, Florida; where she later worked in the ship yard and met her late husband, G. L. "Lefty" Latham. They moved to Greenville, MS; where they had two children. She retired from J.C. Penney after 29 years; afterwards she worked at Deposit Guaranty Bank/AmSouth. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Greenville for over 50 years. Then moved to Fort Walton Beach to live with her sister and transferred her membership to Destin Assembly of God; where she served as a board member. Twelve years later she moved back to Greenville to live with her daughter and joined New Life / Impact Church of God.
She loved people, gardening, cooking (everyone loved her dumplings), being involved in church, and her family. She loved sitting on the porch, and delivering flowers for Betty's Flowers, The Gloryvine, and Stems. She loved to pray.
She is preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and son, Johnny Kenneth Latham.
She is survived by her daughter, Nadine (Wayne) Brasier of Greenville; grandchildren, Niki (Lewis) Henry of Greenville, Kenny (Gidget) Latham of Cleveland, TN, and Lisa Latham of Greenville; great grandchildren, Spencer, Lindsay, and Joshua Latham, Brooklyn (Cole) McAdams, and Brinkley Henry; four great great grandchildren, 2 daughter in laws - Diana Latham and Gloria Latham and a stepdaughter, Hortense Genua and her family of Maryland; and more people than we can count that called her "Mamaw" too. The impact she made on everyone she met will be felt forever!! We will miss her but will see her again.
